During my 3 month residency I was interested in exploring the synergies between scientific and craft processes, acknowledging ancient technologies and layers of knowledge built over time, translating data and the intangible into objects which have personal resonance, and using ‘utopianism’ as a method to help expand imaginative and creative thought.

Through researcher workshops, collaborations and materials led investigations, I created a series of 'artefacts' from a Speculative Future dated 2073, a sustainable society grown from the technologies being developed at the IfS today. The body of work consists of models created by the researchers during the workshops, 3D development 'sketches', and a collection of sculptural artworks. With thanks to the Institute for Sustainability and each of the researchers involved in the development of this project.
