​An engagement with materiality, process and place is central to Steph’s work. Through a queer feminist lens, she is interested in how bodies metabolise and store environmental stress and pollutants, and how practices of slowness, observation and care can open up possibilities for remediation. Her work invites space for intimate forms of knowing to gradually seep into the body.

 

Steph's practice spans sculpture, site specific installation and participatory projects. She is research-led and works closely with sites, researchers, scientists and communities, allowing the collaborative process to shape the outcome of each project.​​
